Position Overview

Responsible for providing timely and pragmatic advice on all employee relations matters, including support on escalated and complex people issues and initiatives. We’re looking for an experienced Employee Relations Specialist to join our high performing, collaborative team as a trusted advisor to the business.

About you and the role

You will have strong emotional intelligence combined with an analytical and curious mindset, so that you look beyond the obvious identifying themes and trends that help us to continuously improve the experience we offer our people. You will be self-driven to dive deep to understand the root cause of matters and look for sustainable solutions.

You will advise Centres, therefore needing strong experience in NES interpretation, but importantly we are looking for someone who is able to apply this knowledge pragmatically and simply.

Ability to build trusted relationship, seen as credible, and providing practical advice to build leadership capability is important. Being proactive and following up on contentious issues, to ensure the agreed actions have taken place will be expected.

Having a customer first approach, with a genuine willingness to support and a pragmatic approach to solving problems will be the key to success in this role.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Someone who Is comfortable managing multiple priorities, and having the ability to advise on multiple people matters with confidence
  • Proven experience supporting a fast paced, blue collar, multi-site organisation
  • Demonstrated understanding of employee relation matters and interpreting Awards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a high attention to detail
  • Collaborative and consultative approach, while also able to work autonomously
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent understand of modern award and interpretation
